LONDON, November 12, 2009 – ShoreTel® (NASDAQ: SHOR), the leading provider of brilliantly simple IP phone systems with fully integrated Unified Communications (UC), today announced the expansion of voice over IP (VoIP) and UC solution offerings in Germany and Switzerland. Following successful campaigns in Italy, France and Spain earlier this year, the move to increase focus on Germany and Switzerland reflects ShoreTel's increasing popularity among European businesses, and its continued growth and leadership in the global IP and UC marketplace.

Unlike traditional UC solution providers, ShoreTel uses a fresh approach and delivers its solutions entirely through the expertise and experience of local value-added resellers and service providers. The ShoreTel UC solution is based on a distributed architecture designed for performance, reliability and manageability, and includes ergonomically designed phones, state-of-the-art switches, and feature-rich software for enterprise-class functionality at a low total cost of ownership.

"As part of our increased focus on Germany and Switzerland, we've been working with distributors in the region such as KOMSA Solutions (Germany) and Phonet (Switzerland) as well as partners such as Telba AG, Auvida GmbH (Germany) and Arktis AG (Switzerland). Some notable customers in the region include the famous football club TSV 1860 Munich and Tyczka Energie," said Thomas Fischer, ShoreTel managing director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH). "Due to the brilliant simplicity and low total cost of ownership of our solutions, ShoreTel has rapidly gained momentum in the IP communications market, and is one of the fastest growing UC providers in the world. We are looking forward to expanding our network in Germany and Switzerland so that organizations can take advantage of our advanced technology and business value, including the system's high availability, scalability and ease of management."

For the 2009 fiscal year, ShoreTel's worldwide revenue reached a company record of $134.8 million, an increase of five percent compared to fiscal year 2008 revenue of $128.7 million. In Europe, ShoreTel has in excess of 100 partners, has increased its headcount by 50 percent year over year, and continues to invest in the European market.

"ShoreTel already has achieved the No.1 market-share position worldwide for small and midsize businesses using its UC desktop application, according to the Synergy Research Group," said John Howard, managing director for ShoreTel in EMEA. "With Europe as a key growth market for us we've got a great line-up of distributors and partners in Germany and Switzerland that share our obsessive focus on customer satisfaction and that are ready to deliver key solutions to the region."

ShoreTel is renowned for its commitment to world-class customer satisfaction and continues to win industry award and accolades for its solutions, including being named Best VoIP Provider for six years in a row by independent industry research firm, Nemertes Research.
