ShoreTel wins 2014 ARN ICT Award for Telecommunications Vendor of the Year
At a glittering, black tie event last night at Sydney’s Hilton Hotel, ShoreTel ANZ picked up the 2014 ARN ICT Award for the Telecommunications Vendor of the Year. ShoreTel is proud to be a sponsor of the ARN Awards to show our support for the industry as a whole and to recognize those partners, distributors and other vendors who contribute to the eco-system that brings technology to the Australian market.
It was a good fun night out for the Australia and New Zealand ShoreTel team, however, we didn’t expect to announce ourselves as the winner of one of the categories in which we were shortlisted, and it caused a bit of a scramble as we worked out who needed to collect the award, that was being presented by Jamie Romanin, ShoreTel ANZ Managing Director.
We made the short list and ultimately won the category of 2014 Telecommunications Vendor of the Year for a number of reasons, including the roll out of our refreshed Champion Partner Program after a 12 month review that included feedback from 50 different ShoreTel partners worldwide. We were also recognized for a Channel Engagement program that was introduced to promote our channel marketing resources, as well as the online learning tools that ShoreTel offers to all our partners. And our Partner Advisory Council was also called out as a program that contributed to our support of the channel in the Australian Market.
The awards were presented at a Scottish themed gala for more than 650 industry leaders in Sydney, complete with kilts, optional underwear, haggis and bagpipes. The ShoreTel ANZ team were delighted to represent the company and to also host one of our partners – The Viatek Group, who we nominated and was short listed for a Community Award in Corporate Citizenship.
The Managing Director of Viatek, Jonathan Salmon has been instrumental in working with the Australian body of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) as both a corporate sponsor and also providing pro bono IT services to the organization. JDRF’s communications infrastructure was spread across five Australian offices and they had very high telephony costs with limited opportunities for collaboration. ShoreTel was able to provide UC hardware and software to JDRF at a significant discount to provide VoIP services across Australia, organization-wide presence awareness, click-to-call, instant messaging, email and voicemail integration. In addition, JDRF’s new ShoreTel UC solution will give it IP-based conferencing and will extend UC functionality to mobile devices for JDRF’s remote working and travelling staff members. Unfortunately Jonathan and Viatek didn’t win their category this year, but they were winners to us and to the JDRF.
Congratulations to the entire Australian and New Zealand team on a well deserved win last night and the industry recognition of our peers as the Telecommunications Vendor of the Year.
